Welcoming Florance Violet

04•10•2017

I've been meaning to sit and write this post for a little while now, being completely honest this isn't the first time I've typed this - the 3rd time I believe? Florance is 3 weeks old now and I have 2 drafts dating back to when she was a few days old. I thought I'd start again completely as I wasn't particularly keen on how I'd written the others. So we're starting fresh, rewriting Florance's birth story.

I haven't gone into much detail about my entire pregnancy with Florance, just written the odd update here and there. Which sucks, as I intended to do regular updates just as I did when I was pregnant with Evangeline; but sometimes my life gets a bit hectic and I don't have much time to sit and write any pregnancy updates or any blog posts really. Anyway, a  little insight into my pregnancy with her - it was absolutely fabulous, really smooth, no nausea, no problems, no nothing; just smooth sailing until I reached around 30-32 weeks.

Around this time I had discovered Florance had stopped wiggling, each time I had visited the hospital and been on a CTG machine, everytime her results would be practically perfect. However due to not feeling her movements I wasn't able to 'count the kicks' or anything to ensure she was okay. I was under a consultant due to having a high risk pregnancy, seeing him every 4 weeks - he agreed that the lack of movements was concerning so sent me for a scan; which showed she was measuring in the 3rd percentile, roughly 4 weeks behind in growth. Due to this there was a chance she'd have to be delivered early, so I was sent for steriod injections which stung like a b*tch but worth it - making her lungs much stronger incase she needed be born much earlier.

The plan was to deliver Florance at 34 weeks, but with a little persuasion and agreeing to constant scans and CTG's the consultant and I came to the agreement she'd be born at 37-38 weeks, of course this would change if results weren't of satisfaction. Either way, I was scheduled to have her at 37 weeks via csection due to her size and much like Evie being breech, however there were no available csection slots at my hospital only at a hospital a few hours from where I live. Fortunately the consultant understood why I wanted to wait until a slot at my local hospital became available and we came up with a plan of CTG's 4 times a week and scans to follow to check on baby up until 38 weeks 1 day, when I had my csection. The day before my section I had a scan which showed baby was losing weight and my placenta wasn't doing to great either - so luckily we had my section planned for the next day!!

04•10•2017
The day of my scheduled csection. The day I finally got to meet my second princess, to finally hug and kiss her. Much like my csection with Evangeline, I had to take 3 tablets 1 the night before and 2 the morning of the procedure - anti-sickness and anti-acid I believe? We were to arrive at the hospital at 07:30am and head to the Folkestone ward which is were we would stay for our time at the hospital. As soon as we arrived we were greeted by my midwife and some students, the aneasatist visited shortly after discussing the spinal, cannula and all that jazz, then the consultant obstetrician followed talking to us about who would be in theatre for the baby, the procedure, risks and to sign paperwork.

Around 08:30 I was given my gowns, stockings, my obs were taken; babys heartbeat was listened to for the last time in my tummy, and my birthing partner (my mum) was also given scrubs. At 09:00am we headed down to theatre, the walk felt like 60 minutes, in reality it probably took 3, but nerves had finally set in haha so everything felt much longer.

We were taken into theatre, I was sat on the operating table where they inserted a cannula into my hand and prepared me for my spinal. I remember my spinal with Evangeline and this time around was no where near as smooth sailing. The aneasatist didn't put enough medication in the numbing injection, due to this I felt every. single. part. of my spinal!!.

which I can't really put into words how uncomfortable it was. Of course I cried which I think is understandable so at this point I was already fed up.

After this I was laid down and my catheter was inserted I'd say probably 15 different members of theatre staff and 2 students watched, so they have all seen my lady garden - glamorous right? My spinal wasn't working very well on my left side and I could feel everything on my right side..so I was tilted back on the operating table which resulted in me being unable to breathe as the spinal had travelled up onto my chest. The bed was tilted the other way and a few minutes later I could breathe again. At this point I was still able to feel a majority of my right side, with my left side being completely numb.

The aneasatist made the decision to give the go ahead to start the procedure regardless to the spinal working on only one side as they didn't want baby to become distressed. They began the csection and I honestly cannot being to describe the feeling I had on my right side, I felt everything. I won't go into detail, but honestly it was the worst pain I have ever felt. Luckily I could only feel on one side so when the consultant was carrying out the procedure on the left I was okay, but as soon as they moved to the right it was horrendous. Maybe I'm being dramatic but I honestly felt like I was dying.

09:24am Florance Violet was born, letting out the biggest cry I've ever heard. Those steriods definitely worked haha! After Florance was born she was assessed by the paedatritians who were pleased with her breathing, skin, movements and everything else so they aloud me to hold her. I wasn't able to hold her very long as I was very light headed and uncomfortable due to the surgeon having to finish the procedure; so she was given to my mum for a cuddle. ❤

Florance at just minutes old! <3
Florance and I in recovery <3

Around 10 minutes later my mum headed to recovery with Florance and the midwife, she was weighed, given her Vitamin K injection and she was put into her first outfit, a white tiny baby sleepsuit which swamped her with a floral hat from next. During this time I was still in theatre, I was given two injections in both of my sides - they had to be given with an ultrasound machine as they can damage your organs, I'm not entirely sure what these injections were being honest. Around 5 minutes later I was reunited with Florance and my mum. I was finally able to give Florance a proper cuddle and lots of kisses. Unfortunately I was unable to get a picture of my mum and Florance at the hospital! :( :( :(

10:50am
We were taken back to the Folkestone ward, were Zachary was able to meet Florance and give her her first feed - much like Evangeline, Florance has tongue tie so was unable to latch to breastfeed. Our family came to meet Florance bringing lots of gifts, congratulations and well wishes. 🎉
Zachary and Florance. :)
My dad and Florance <3

My sister and Florance. <3

We remained at the hospital until the next evening, around 6pm.. We were then discharged and able to head home to start our new adventures.

Although my csection didn't go as planned, I would do it again in a heartbeat for Florance. As I would for Evangeline - I love my girls more than words can describe. 💕 I also wanted to add, if your waiting to have a csection please don't let my experience effect you,  because its very rare! 😘

Thank you for taking your time to read all about Florance's arrival. I have also written a birth story on Evangeline's arrival which I will link here - Evangeline's birth story

I hope you are all well and I will speak to you all in my next post!

A long awaited update

 Let's have a catch up

Hello, it's been a little while since I lasted posted on here. Back in September, so not to long; but over a month ago. I initially intended to upload much more frequently, I had plans for pregnancy updates, Evie bum boo updates, mummy tags, tips, hauls and a few more but I guess I'm not to fab at sticking to a blog schedule and life got pretty hectic so I didn't really have very much time at all... Quite a bit has happened since I lasted spoke to you all, and I thought it would be nice to have a little 'catch up'.

Going back to when I last posted everything was going swimmingly, I must've been roughly 34 weeks pregnant and was planning on writing a pregnancy update, giving a bit of an insight into what had been happening, symptoms and all of that. But everything turned relatively sour and to be honest I spent most days in hospital on different machines, having different scans and seeing doctors. Little lady had stopped wriggling and no one could quite figure out why, so therefore I was unable to monitor her movements. After having a growth scan it came to light that little lady, truly was little and measuring around 4 weeks behind her gestational age; in the 3rd percentile. It was decided that I was to have CTGs 3 times a week, steriod injections - which hurt like a b*tch; but worth it in the long run, scans weekly and consultant weekly and no real sort of birth plan what so ever, as depending on scans and CTG results she could've been delivered at any time. Anyway, long story short I was able to make the final decision and chose to have her kept in my tummy for as long as possible, up until the results starting deteriorating, due to this little lady made her grand arrival via C-section on the 04•10•2017 at 09:24am, weighing 5lbs 6oz at 38 weeks - I'm so very chuffed they allowed her to stay in my bump until she was full term. We couldn't be happier, Evangeline is proving to be the best big sister. I love my girls more than words could possibly describe.

Meet - Florance Violet. 💕

I will be doing a separate birth story in the near future and will go more indepth into everything so keep your eyes peeled for that.

We've not been up to very much recently, of course I'm sure some of you understand the last thing you particularly want to be doing when recovering from a C-section is going on day trips or heading out, instead I've much prefered staying indoors in comfy clothes and having lots of cuddles with Evangeline and Florance. Although, I must say; I've recovered much quicker this time around - in fact was up wondering around nipping to the shop, back to my normal self around 4 days postpartum. But we haven't done anything to extravagant.

I was considering do a little Christmas series on here, a few DIY's, cooking bits, tags, tips and a few more bits and bobs - I won't say to much, I'll leave a little element of suprise haha! There's a few posts in my drafts; so hopefully I manage to finish writing those and post them before/during December!

I haven't much more to say, so I'll pop in a few more bits I can update on.... to start, I'm still living with my parents, I've been actively looking for properties and I've been to quite a few house viewings but found nothing so far - which sucks, I must admit I do enjoy living at home; but would love to have my own place. I'm really hoping that something comes on the market soon, as of now it's a waiting game - waiting for the perfect house/flat to pop up! 🏠

When I finally move I'd like to do a few posts in regards to that too, maybe some moving posts, interior posts, hauls and so on - but we'll have to wait and see.

Lets throw a little celebration, I fit back into my pre-pregnancy clothing - Woohoo! Evangeline, Florance, my mum, sister and I popped into Matalan actually and I found a skirt, size 8 and it fits! which means not only have I lost all of my pregnancy weight I'm actually slimmer now than I was before falling pregnant with Florance - crazy right!?

Anyway, that's all I really have to say for the time being, just a snappy little update; I hope your all well and I'll speak to you in my next post.

My biggest little princess

All about Evangeline:

I'm back with along awaited, extremely overdue update on my little princess, well not so little princess Evangeline. The last update I wrote was way back when she was 6 months old and now she's very almost 14 months old - so as you can imagine quite a lot has happened in regards to milestones, achievements and everything surrounding becoming a toddler. It still feels so strange saying 'toddler' because to me she's still my teeny-tiny little baby, except she's not so little anymore - I totally understand what my parents meant when they used to tell me "You'll always be our baby", because Evangeline, no matter how old she is, she truly will always be my baby.

But anyway moving on, so she's turning 14 months on Thursday 7th September 2017 - it's crazy to think that her 1st birthday was almost 2 months ago! So lets start with a little 'overview' of the last almost 8 months if you will, she has had a routine development appointment and scored perfect in everything so I thought I'd talk a little about each thing too...

She now walks and runs - which I would say is one of the many biggest milestones she's reached so far! She learned to walk all by herself at around 11.5 months, so a few weeks before her 1st birthday. She started to crawl at roughly 9-10 months, and was cruising around on the furniture a few days later; she was 11 months when she took her first steps independently and after a few weeks was running and walking all by herself. Now almost 3 months on, she's mastered it. She can run, walk, spin, dance; it's like she's been walking for years haha! So of course with walking comes shoes, we've spent a fortune on shoes (or at least it feel that way lol) I believe in total she has had and out grown 4 pairs of her Clarks shoes since she started walking/cruising - her first pair of shoes were a little pink pair of Clarks cruiser shoes in the size 3G, little pink t-bars with a little pink butterfly by the toes; needless to say you couldn't even squeeze her little toe in them now! Her shoe size as of today is 4G.

Talking, Evangeline said her first word this was when she was 8 months give or take a few days which was 'Mama' I think I shed a tear when she started saying mama, it was and still is the cutest thing I've ever experienced. She can now say around 8 words - which is perfect for her age. For those of you wondering the words she can say are mama, dada, nana - nanny, buba - bottle, ta, hiya, cat and yeah. She's a proper little chatterbox, constantly nattering away to herself and everyone around; she loves to be heard and usually shouts if she doesn't think anyone is listening haha! She's learning new words each day, with the help of nursery rhymes - which she loves and stands there swaying or bopping along, ABC songs, books and communicating with myself or my family. There isn't much more to say about her talking but I'm proud with how far she's coming along!

Food, ah food. Food hasn't really been a strong point to be honest and it's not really something I talk about, but Evie has a very particular diet - she doesn't like much and what she likes she loves and could eat it by the gallon. I know some people will criticise and say "Oh, well obviously you don't give her enough variety, or you let her get away with to much' but we've tried everything under the sun, everything you could possibly think of, she just doesn't like many foods. She realllyyyyyy hates foods that are squishy, soggy or lumpy if she touches them herself she will heave, for example she will not touch fruit or sandwiches, unless you put it in her mouth, and no she's not lazy she just doesn't like those types of textures - which is something we're working on with lots and lots of different sensory bits; I'm sure she'll be picking up all foods in no time! Onto what she does like, she loves pasta, curry's, roasts, casseroles, fruit purees, crisps, biscuits, yogurts and other bits and bobs - she just dislikes soggy things she has to touch or foods that are really lumpy. She's gaining weight and growing as she should be be, developing as she should be so we're not and nobody else is concerned.  But, everything in time!

I've mentioned it a few times over on my Instagram, but she still hasn't got any teeth! not even 1! I'm not entirely sure why, and no health professionals seem worried, they say her teeth will come when they want to. People are quite often surprised to learn she hasn't any teeth at almost 14 months, when a majority of babies her age have at least 4 teeth; but nope Evangeline literally has none.

Her favourite things, I wanted to include just a few of her favourite things and her likes and dislikes. So firstly her faaavv things and things she likes - she has a fair few, she has a pink bear with baby girl on the feet which my parents bought her when she was born - she carries it around with her giving it a good old cuddle and always greets the bear with a smile, she loves teletubies, In the night garden and any toy which can make a lot of noise. She loves books, turning the pages and looking at the bright pictures. Her dummy is another fav, although I hope to change that in the next year or so. Skips, wotsits, cheese, quavers, strawberries and pom bears are her favourite snack foods and spaghetti bolognese is her favourite meal - just like mummy! She loves her milk and water too! She adores bath time, splashing and playing in the bath. She loves watching Moana, Boss baby and Sing - there her favourites but of course she'll watch anything thats bright or musical. She loves the outdoors, whether thats going on a walk, playing in the garden or going out in the car, which is sometimes hard as she doesn't like a few the bits that come along with those..She loves kisses and cuddles and being tickled.
Her dislikes, as I said above, she isn't keen on any food thats squishy, soggy or lumpy; shes not a fan of juice, she doesn't particularly like sitting in her pram or carseat and she isn't fond of going shopping either. She hates having her hair put into bunches so a majority of the time we tame her hair with a little clip, she hates nappy changes and getting dressed. I can't really think of anything else she dislikes... because overall she's a very happy, playful, friendly, loving, sassy, cheeky little lady and nothing really bothers her.

Evangeline will have her first water babies lesson on the 16th September - I know she'll be the oldest there but we've been on a waiting list since she was 6 weeks old and now finally have a space; I'm excited but actually pretty nervous, the thought of her being 'dunked' so to speak under the water panics me, but I'm sure she'll be fine and love every moment. I'll do a little update on that after a few lessons maybe?

Anyway, I'm going to end this post here or I'll end up writing a novel as I could talk about my little lady all day! I hope you found this post interesting and enjoyed a little Evie catch up! I'll talk to you in my next post!

I wanted to include a small collage of recent pictures of my princess, isn't she a cutie!

Let the blogging commence...

I'm back to blogging!

My entire world, I love my princesses more than anything and I'm beyond
excited to start our adventures as a family of 3 in October.

Hello, it's me again! I'm back uploading after taking a well needed break - although its a much shorter break than I originally anticipated... just over a month I believe, give or take a few days. I was under the assumption that I would be gone for a little longer, but I wanted to get back into the 'swing' of things, (not that I really ever got into the swing  of things in the first place) it didn't feel right completely abandoning my blog - and even though I didn't upload very often at all, I kind of missed having a chat with you and wanted to do a little, you guessed... update..  So I'm back! I hope your all well, and that you've been making the most of the summer! Also, please excuse the fact that my spelling or general post in general is a bit of a shambles but I'm a bit rusty and its almost midnight haha...

First things first, I've revamped my blog - again... and I love it! I love the simplicity, and the personal touches! not to forget I've actually managed to figure out how to add my Instagram back on here again haha; so feel free to head over to see what we've been up to recently! I hope you like the new appearance, let me know what you think?

Where do I start? believe it or not, not that much has actually happened since my last post... I mean of course a variety of bits and bobs in my life have changed, for example I have a great deal to update you on in regards to my pregnancy, and lot's of new milestones Evangeline has reached, but I was thinking of doing those things in a different post... I have roughly 6-7 post drafts written in my notebook - which I intend to start immediately. But other than that nothing much has changed. I'm still living at my parents house - I've been searching high and low for my own place, but nothing seems to be cropping up at the moment; but I'm sure one will eventually. I have a new car, which I love; it's my 2nd proper car that I've bought - I've had other cars but they haven't actually been mine haha!

I've come up with a relatively easy upload schedule, hopefully one that I can stick to? or at least try my best to achieve. I'm hoping to upload at least once a week, but with a toddler and new baby on the way I'm sure it'll change - maybe some weeks there will be a few uploads and others not so many, I'm not going to put to much pressure on myself, but I promise I'll try my very best to keep some sort of routine! In regards to posts, as I mentioned above I have around 6-7 currently jotted down in my notebook; I'll include them here so you know what's coming up on my blog in the next few weeks... starting from the top of my list - a little update on Evangeline, my long awaited pregnancy update, my living situation and what I plan to do in my future house, all about my new car, reviews on some new bits for the baby and Evie, my opinion on the bugaboo donkey so far and finally.. one that I've been working on, on and off for almost 2 months - Evangeline's 1st birthday post!!

I've got a few more posts in mind - but I'm not entirely sure whether anything will ever come of them, but we'll see..

Anyway, I'm going to wrap it up here. I know this post is possibly one of the shortest I've done, but I don't want to bore you and waffle on for the whole of an eternity. I wanted to add, thank you to all of you who have stuck around waiting for our return, it means so very much to have all of your support!

Thank you for reading and I'll speak to you beauties in my next post!

Summer Fun

Beach visits, days out, family fun and birthday organising:

Little pickles first proper trip to the beach!
I can't believe I'm actually writing my second post of June, and my last only went up a week or so ago - 10th June to be precise so 10 days on and I'm sat writing another post, woohoo! I wanted to have a bit of a natter. Talk about a few things we've been up to since my last post. I mean, not a great deal has happened but I thought I'd post anyway. I think I might throw in a tiny update on a few bits to?

So where to start, I was talking about how lush the weather has been recently in my last post - and it's still absolutely lovely! this last weekend we've experienced a bit of a heat wave, or from what I've heard. It's been reaching 28°c-30°c on some days which for some places is average or actually cooler, but from where I live a Kent, Uk it's pretty darn hot, far to hot some days haha! Although I don't want to complain because the sunshine will probably be gone as quick as it came and it'll be raining next week (secretly as much as I hate the heat, I would like it to stick around for a little longer) it's just soooooooo humid. I'm fine the whole time theres a breeze, as I'm sure everyone agrees and as soon as thats gone and its just sunny I'm sweating enough to fill an olympic sized swimming pool and feel like I'm melting haha! This happened this time last year too, we had a mini heat wave, although I think I dealt with it better at 9 months pregnant than now at 6 months pregnant... odd isn't it? But like I said if theres a breeze I'm fab haha!

Evangeline, my family and I visited the beach last week, it was Evie's first proper (if you will) trip to the seaside; we've gone for walks along the sea wall but never actually taken her onto the beach - it's a shame Zachary was at work and couldn't come with us! (I will insert some pictures from out visit) but I'm pretty certain we will visit the beach with him this summer. We've spent a lot of time in our back garden to, taking in full advantage of the nice weather. Myself or Zachary set up a little sun canopy - well make a sun canopy with the washing line and some towels/blankets haha, and Evangeline will happily sit in the shade playing with her toys alongside myself and Zachary or having a little sun whilst in her paddling pool splashing about drenching us haha (with waterproof suncream of course) she is just the cutest, her smile melts my heart. She loves the outdoors, she loves everything to do with being outside and being in the fresh air - in saying that she loves spending time inside playing with her toys just as much! I think I'll add some photos of her having fun in the garden...

Fun at the seaside.

Playing in the garden, and pictures with mummy!

Her birthday is swiftly approaching 16 days away, I thought we'd pretty much completed the birthday preparation but I've written a list and discovered theres actually still a bit of stuff to buy! the food is one thing, but also something to put the food in haha! I've only just realised that we don't have any large dishes or plates to put food out on the food table, I think thats kind of a priority haha! So I'm on a mission to find the perfect ones that match her theme. I still haven't actually mentioned her theme yet, but I'm thinking about doing a separate post talking about her birthday, presents and the party. I know I've spoken a lot about her birthday in my last few posts, but I'm soooo excited and feel like it's nice to throw in a little party update just incase any of you lovely lot are having a party too! So back to the lists I've written, I have a whole page of food we need to buy and what we're having on the table, I was looking into making some fun foods I guess, one's I've seen on Pinterest but honestly I don't think I'll have any time to practice them before her party so we'll just have to buy them haha! (We've actually changed the day of her party now to, instead of being on her birthday its now 2 days after - I just thought I'd quickly pop that in!)

It was fathers day on Sunday 18th June, 2 days ago now. It was Zachary's first fathers day (if you don't include pregnancy) we had a pretty chilled out day, didn't do very much; Zachary had he's gifts from Evangeline and bump, we had breakfast, visited my daddy for a few hours before lunch and then heading of for a coffee and iced tea with Zachary's dad. Other than that we spent the day relaxing at home, playing in the garden with Evie. I'm not to keen on Sunday's which is a bizarre thing to say, but I hatteeeee the fact that everything closes early, I feel like I can't truly soak up Sunday's until everything is done because of being on a time frame. Luckily we now do our food shop on a Saturday so it's a little more chilled haha, I just wish everything open and closed at the same time each day so that you don't have to rush around, lol!

Of course I had to add in some pictures from fathers day - Zachary and Evangeline & me, Evie, my dad, sister and nephew!

Anyway, I think I'm going to leave it there. I've had quite the ramble haha; thank you for reading my little chit-chat update; I hope your all doing well - and ill speak to you in my next post!

A little update, where I've been?

What's happened since my last post

Little lady relaxing in our garden. I love this picnic blanket from Sainsbury - so pretty!

Hi, it's me again... I honestly think I'm going to have to stop promising a more regular uploading schedule, I've been awful at sticking to it; so I may as well avoid making any definite "I'll upload this day, or this frequently.." kind of promises on my blog. I just can't seem to find the time, juggling being a full time mummy, pregnant, running errands and keeping our house organised; my blog doesn't really slot in to well being honest, what tends to happen is I'll write a post whilst little lady naps, I'll be on a roll and then decide - oohhh there's an episode of Geordie shore, or one born every minute that I need to catch up on and then boom, my typing streak ends and then that post ends up in my drafts for probably the rest of eternity? But, I can't complain I love how busy I am nowadays, having cuddles, playtime, snacks and all that comes with being a mummy, I wouldn't change it for the world, so as for now my blog is a place where I write, update, upload when I can... and I hope you don't mind to much? I'm sure you other mummies understand... I'm trying to soak up every moment with Evangeline, she's almost 1 and I'll blink and she'll be in school and the baby in my tummy in nursery - time just shoots by!! But the promise I will make is I will try and upload as often as I can.

The last 2 posts I've written have been a Q&A and a little pregnancy update - which I uploaded as I'm typing this, although this post probably won't be live for a few more weeks haha! - I was right, I'm back working on this post over 2 weeks after I initially started it haha! better late than never? At least this one hasn't been abandoned in my drafts haha!

Evangeline's first birthday is in 26 days, maybe less if I upload this later than todays haha; her birthday is on Friday 7th July 2017 - I can't believe how quickly it's approaching, in just under a month we'll have a 1 year old... I'm so stinking excited to celebrate her birthday, I've been organising her party since October, so like... 8-9 months I want it to be perfect! Everything that comes along with the preparation seems to be going well, invites have been sent, decorations all bought, outfits sorted, we have presents too I think 15 so far? We still want to buy her some more, I know some people will think thats more than enough and that buying her more is silly but its not as if we've bought them all at once, and we want to spoil our little princess on her birthday... to us thats more than acceptable - so sorry if you disagree. But anyway moving on, a majority of her party is sorted we just need to contact our chosen cake maker a few weeks before to arrange what time and date we are collecting her cake (we've already discussed designs and set that they will be making it - hopefully that makes sense?) The only thing I'm not to sure on is party bags, as other babies are coming along, do I need party bags? if so, what on earth do I put in them?! Haha, I'm sure I'll figure it out?

So I'm over half way through my pregnancy with our second princess or baby no.2 - this pregnancy feels although its flying by, I feel although I only found out last month!? I'm excited to meet her in October once she's finished 'cooking' if you will. We've decided on a name for her now, but we won't be announcing that until her arrival so you'll just have to wait until October haha!

We're finishing decorating Evangeline's bedroom/decor so she may be moving into her own room this month, it's going to be so odd her sleeping in her own bedroom, but I guess I'll have to let her sleep in her own room one day! or perhaps I'll sleep in there to? haha! I gave Zachary the task of making her a chest of drawers as I couldn't find any I like - the ones she currently have are from Ikea, but I wanted them to match the theme of her bedroom, so Zachary has taken the challenge on; and there almost finished!! I asked my dad to make her a toybox for her room and he has, its lovely, it even has a floral heart on, but rather than waffling about her room in this post - perhaps I'll do an uploaded nursery tour... I posted one a little while back, so if I remember to I'll add in the link!

We're still on the hunt for the perfect duo pram, we're torn between the 'Bugaboo Donkey' and the 'Silver Cross Wave' I think thats the names haha! I  love them both, theres just different things I prefer in both prams and of course different things that I dislike to...who would've thought finding a pram would be so tricky haha! Again, much like everything once we've settled on one, I'll most likely so a post relating to it, why we chose it, all the features, prices and maybe our thoughts so far...... thats if we ever settle haha!

The weather has been bliss here recently, only a few rainy days scattered here and there but overall its really starting to feel like summer. I'm sat typing this with an ice cold smoothie, perched on our bed, fan blowing, Evangeline fast asleep in her cot (we've just returned from a 1st birthday party, so she's a little worn out bless her), and talking about the chest of drawers - Zachary is out in the garden painting them in the sunshine; I think we're heading out for a walk down the beach soon, then home for a grilled chicken salad! There's quite a bit happening towards the end of this month so there may be another post, as I said I won't make any promises but I'm hoping to squeeze in another post before our little pickles birthday - so I guess we'll just have to wait and see?

Thank you for reading my little update - until next time lovelies, Cya! xo

My first trimester - 2nd pregnancy

Baby no2.

Our Baby No.2 <3

I mentioned previously that I'd be uploading a few pregnancy related posts, I thought a good place to start would be talking about my first trimester - I've not done a post like this before, I popped my pregnancy updates with Evangeline in all of my chit-chat type of posts, but I thought I'd try discussing it on 2 or 3 posts in one place rather than in lots of different places. Hopefully that makes sense?!

Ironically I'm writing this post a little later than I originally planned, I was hoping to have it written and uploaded the last week of my 1st trimester but that didn't happen, I'm now in fact just over 2 weeks into my 2nd trimester; but I guess any post is better late than never, right? To make it a little more interesting I thought I'd throw in a few little comparisons with my pregnancy with Evangeline... or at least I feel it'll be more interesting haha!

Anyway, I'm rambling so on with the post!....

Rewinding to back when I found out that we are expecting baby no2, the day we found out our little princess Evangeline is going to be a big sister. Valentines day, we had just been out as a family to Wagamamas by far my favvvvvv restaurant, and had to pop into B&M.... I can't remember why, I think it was to pick a neck pillow? sounds familiar but honestly I can't really remember haha. Nevertheless, we popped into B&M - at this point I think I was around 4 or 5 days late for my period (putting it bluntly haha) so just on a whim we decided to pick up a few boxes of tests, as we were trying for baby no2 and you never no when you need a test! We arrived home at 8pm and I done the test, and boom - within seconds the test had come back positive, I didn't believe it so I sent Zachary to Sainsbury to pick up a digital, which revealed I was roughly 4 weeks. I was in utter shock as I hadn't had ANY symptoms what so ever!

Moving away from finding out and moving onto symptoms... I had none, not one. Other than cramping, which I have every time I have a cycle I had nothing out of the ordinary; however when I was pregnant with Evangeline I was extremely nauseous, boobs were sore, cramping, bad skin all the usual - so kind of had a hunch, but nothing at all this time. I;m lucky really as I've heard some horror stories about women who are sick 30+ times a day, my sister had morning sickness so I've witnessed it first hand, and boy am I glad I haven't had it; I hate being sick!

I had my first scan at 5-6 weeks due to being high risk for ectopic pregnancies, another at 7-8 weeks to check on baby and of course my 12 week scan. I had 4 scans in my 1st trimester with Evie. We actually have a scan booked for the 6th May to find out baby no.2's gender - I'm soooooooooo stinking excited; but I'll possibly talk about that in another post.

I've had 1 midwife appointment in my first trimester, a few doctors and consultant appointments, medication starting all over again and of course blood tests. But I can't complain, because I'd do these things daily if it means my children are healthy. :)

But thats it really, I had a feeling this post would be a quick one, but truth is I don't have to much to say, maybe future updates will be longer? Either way I hope you've enjoyed reading this, having a bit more information on baby no.2, and I'll talk to you in my next post.
