Home sweet home:

Our house:

When we decided to move out:

Moving out has always been an open topic of discussion for Zachary and I. throughout our relationship we’ve spoken about the idea of living together and when we would make that leap. We made the joint decision that we would wait until we felt the time was right before moving into our own place; for us that was exactly 1 ½ years into our relationship… this is when our ‘house hunting’ began.
Hunting for our perfect place:
Looking for a house is simple right? Ironically not, or at least in our case. Finding the right location, type of property and budget are all factors that I never realised had to be considered! Weeks turned into months, we were still looking for a place to call our own; after several property viewings, in different locations with various estate agents – we finally found our ‘perfect palace’, a place that met both of our criteria’s.
Preparation and organization:

Whilst property hunting packing was well underway – let the packing commence! Allowing us a little while, around 3 weeks before finding our house. Packing way in advance was probably the best idea ever, as once we had found the place we were going to call our own; there wasn’t a mad rush to start to pack our items, organize them and move them into our new home. I decided to pack ALL of my belongings into plastic tubs, a cheaper alternative to cardboard boxes, there easy to store and once we had moved they could be used again as another method of storage. Once finding our property we contacted the estate agents, handed in the paperwork (my gosh, there was a lot) and waited around 2 weeks before receiving our move in date.
Moving in day, unpacking and decorating:
We moved into our house on the 27th February 2015 – a very hectic day. There were items being moved into the house all day, hundreds of boxes, furniture, bags – everything. We spent the whole day along side my family, placing boxes and furniture in each and every room. Assembling furniture, unpacking and organizing was what our whole weekend consisted of – obviously we didn’t complete these mammoth tasks in one weekend! More like 4, haha. But I can finally say – we’ve managed, everything is unpacked has a place in our home, everything is organised and exactly how we want it.

Settling in:
Of course its going to take a little while to get used to the idea of having ‘a place of our own’… the responsibility of having bills, bills I didn’t even know existed! Haha…But it couldn’t be better, we have a lovely home together – a home that’s perfect to welcome our baby into in July. <3
